Juvenile Law
Juvenile Court proceedings are governed by the Louisiana Children’s Code. Katherine L. Hurst was the Research Assistant to the Louisiana Children’s Code Project and handled termination of parental rights litigation on behalf of the State of Louisiana. Katherine L. Hurst has tried cases in Juvenile Court since her senior year in law school (1990-1991), where she handled cases in East Baton Rouge Juvenile Court through a yearlong Juvenile Court Clinical education program.
Katherine L. Hurst has thirty (30) years of experience in Juvenile Court proceedings, including, but not limited to:

- When the State is alleging child abuse or neglect
- Juvenile Delinquency
- When a juvenile is charged with a crime
